A rare and highly collectable Vintage Stag Fineline Tallboy Chest of Drawers John & Sylvia Reid for Stag Furniture. This exceptional piece predates their famous Fineline collection of the early 1960s, making it a short-run design and a special find for mid-century enthusiasts.
Crafted in a striking combination of teak and maple veneers, the tallboy embodies the Reids’ signature minimalist aesthetic, softened with thoughtful details — slender silver metal handles, clean graduated drawer fronts, and a subtle framed edge to the top. The play of warm wood tones keeps the piece feeling both authentically mid-century and remarkably contemporary.
With six smoothly sliding drawers, it offers generous storage while retaining a compact footprint, making it ideal for bedrooms or interiors where height is preferable to width. Each drawer is well-constructed with dovetail joints and clean interiors, a testament to Stag’s reputation for quality craftsmanship.
This Vintage Stag Fineline Tallboy Chest of Drawers John & Sylvia Reid, is presented in excellent condition. We have carefully cleaned and polished the chest with natural beeswax to revive its lustre while preserving its original finish. Light, superficial marks consistent with age remain, but nothing that detracts from its overall presentation. The piece is sturdy, solid, and ready for decades of continued use. The Maple maker’s mark is present inside one of the drawers.
