Victorian Waxed Pine Glazed Bookcase Cabinet

A charming Victorian waxed pine bookcase cabinet dating to around 1900–1910, combining generous display space above a practical chest of drawers. Sourced directly from an estate in Surrey, where it was cherished in a family home for over 40 years, this piece has been expertly revived with a freshly hand-waxed exterior and a softly painted interior.

  • Origin & Provenance: Circa 1900–1910; acquired from a country home in Surrey with a wonderful 40-year family history.

  • Finish & Color: Freshly sanded and hand-waxed exterior highlighting the natural warmth of the pine, perfectly contrasted by an interior painted in Annie Sloan 'Provence' blue-green chalk paint.

  • Upper Display: Features a classic stepped cornice over a pair of glazed cabinet doors, opening to clean, painted fixed shelving ideal for books or treasured ceramics.

  • Lower Storage: Base section houses two short over two long, generous deep drawers fitted with traditional turned pine knobs, providing excellent concealed storage.

  • Construction & Restorations: Built in two sections for ease of transport; features minor age-related restorations including a newly fitted sturdy plinth base.
