Midcentury G-Plan Brandon light oak sideboard

Mid Century G Plan “Brandon” Oak Sideboard by E. Gomme, c.1953

A rare and highly desirable G Plan Brandon sideboard, produced by E. Gomme for G Plan’s very first furniture range, launched in 1953.

While Brandon sideboards are most commonly found in light oak veneer, this example stands out for its excellent condition and for retaining two particularly sought-after original features rarely found together:

• An internal removable tray that clips neatly to the inside of the left-hand cupboard door

• A sliding and removable cutlery tray housed within the lower drawer, designed to glide forward and back on its original internal ledge

The layout is both practical and elegant, featuring:

• One double cupboard and one single cupboard, each fitted with shelves incorporating bottle cut-outs, ideal for drinks or barware storage

• A single drawer that opens and closes smoothly, offering generous, organised storage

Beautifully proportioned and timeless in design, this sideboard is the perfect size for the modern home, equally suited to dining spaces, living rooms, or open-plan interiors.

The piece is presented in wonderful overall condition, with no noticeable marks or scratches, and remains solid, clean, and ready for everyday use.
