The owners, a retired design professor and ceramicist, had lived there since the early ‘70s, collecting Scandinavian and British modernist pieces over the decades.

Tucked away in their open-plan dining area, the chairs had seen everything from dinner parties to studio critiques, always respected but never restored, which left their warm teak patina beautifully mellowed by time. What drew us in was not just the form — that iconic three-legged construction and Olsen’s clever stackable geometry — but the energy of the space they came from: one deeply rooted in mid-century design values.
