🔎 Provenance Story

We sourced this charming Ercol Model 393 table from a coastal cottage in West Sussex, where it had served faithfully as a breakfast table since the early 1970s. The previous owners, a retired schoolteacher and ceramicist, had chosen it for its compact size and simple beauty — the perfect place for morning tea, newspaper reading, and the occasional sketchbook session.

Tucked beside a sash window overlooking the garden, the table had aged gracefully, acquiring a soft patina and just the right amount of wear that tells its story. The slatted magazine rack underneath still held a few well-thumbed cookbooks when we picked it up.

Now lightly restored and cleaned, the table retains its honest character and solid structure. It’s a perfect piece of postwar British design — unfussy, functional, and quietly stylish. Ready to bring warmth and history to a new home.
