The wardrobe features a large central mirrored door framed by finely shaped mouldings and carved floral detail. The walnut has a warm honey-brown tone, with attractive figured veneers across the front and striking chevron-patterned veneer to the side panels.

Its sweeping shaped cornice is finished with carved foliate and scroll decoration, giving the piece a refined French character without making it feel overly heavy. Raised on elegant carved cabriole-style feet, the wardrobe has particularly graceful proportions.

The chevron veneer continues across the sides, making the wardrobe particularly appealing when viewed from an angle. This level of decorative treatment gives the piece greater visual interest than wardrobes designed only to be viewed straight on.
