A Collection of 15 Antique Japanese Oshie Pressed Textile Samurai Showa Shadow Puppet Doll
The Information I have been able to find about the collection is that they are Japanese handmade pressed textile pictures, known as ‘Oshie’ which is a traditional Japanese craft that can be traced back to the 17th Century.
It normally consists of multiple paper layers in sections of kimono fabric that are hand-pressed together to give a three-dimensional look.
The puppets were used in a Bunraku – A traditional Japanese puppet theatre founded in Osaka in the early part of the 17th Century.
Some are signed on the back.
Circa: Early 20th Century.
There are 15 puppets ranging from 7 inches to 13 inches.

Condition report:
In Antique Condition, some of the puppets are slightly torn and have some paper missing on their heads.
They are very delicate and need to be framed.
