Antique French Gien "Chèvrefeuille" Pedestal Cake Stand / Compotier (c. 1880s)

Description

An exceptional late 19th-century antique French pedestal cake stand (compotier sur piédouche) produced by the renowned Faïencerie de Gien. Crafted from durable Terre de Fer earthenware, this piece features the sought-after Chèvrefeuille (Honeysuckle) pattern in a striking teal-blue transfer print over a warm cream ground.

Ideal as a statement centerpiece for displaying cakes, pastries, or fresh fruit, or simply showcased as a decorative piece in a French Country or Brocante-style kitchen.

  • Markings: Fully stamped on the underside with the original Gien maker's mark and pattern name.

  • Condition: Very good antique condition. Glaze is bright and clean with crisp pattern transfer. Features one tiny, minor chip on the underside rim of the base (not visible when displayed and does not affect stability).
