Windsor Latticed Dining Chair Model 376
Ercol Model 376 Candlestick Lattice Armchair (c. 1950s–1970s)

The Ercol Model 376, often called the Candlestick Lattice Armchair, is a distinctive piece from Ercol’s celebrated Windsor range. Designed by Lucian Ercolani in the 1950s, it combines the sculptural elegance of turned spindles with the airy lightness that defines mid-century British seating.
The nickname “Candlestick” refers to the finely turned spindles in the backrest, reminiscent of traditional candlesticks, while the “lattice” describes the criss-cross webbing of the seat base. Handcrafted from solid beech and elm, the chair features a curved top rail, outward-swept arms, and Ercol’s signature splayed and tapered legs.
Originally supplied with a thick removable cushion, the 376 was designed as a comfortable yet compact lounge or occasional chair. Its timeless frame adapts easily to a variety of upholstery styles — from bold retro prints to understated linens — making it a popular choice for both collectors and modern interiors.
