Ercol Studio Couch (c. 1956–1970s)

The Ercol Studio Couch is an icon of British mid-century design. Originally launched in the 1950s as part of the Windsor collection, it was created by Lucian Ercolani as a versatile hybrid: part daybed, part sofa, and entirely stylish.

Handcrafted from solid beech and elm, the Studio Couch features steam-bent spindle sides, an open-back frame, and elegant turned legs. Originally sold with wool or textured upholstery, today it’s a collector’s favourite—often reupholstered in bold modern fabrics for a fresh, contemporary look.

Its understated form and timeless craftsmanship make it perfect for living rooms, guest rooms, or open-plan interiors.
